Info-Tech is Revising Down Its Recommendation for MS Dynamics CRM

Posted on by Tim Hickernell

As part of Info-Tech’s Large Enterprise and SMB CRM Vendor Landscapes, published in late Q1, we assigned MS Dynamics CRM a Green (full satisfactory) score in the area of mobile CRM. This was based on Microsoft telling Info-Tech analysts that the new Mobile CRM and extended browser support would be available in 2Q2012.

We are in Q3, still without these enhancements, and Microsoft recently announced these will be delayed until Q4.  While we cannot revise actual vendor and product scores mid-cycle (the next refresh will be in early 2013), we are effectively lowering our assessment of MS Dynamic CRM’s mobile capabilities from Green to Yellow (partially satisfactory).

Large enterprises that place extreme importance on mobile CRM should consider Sage SalesLogix and Salesforce.com instead of MS Dynamics CRM.

SMBs that place extreme importance on mobile CRM should consider Sage CRM, SugarCRM or Salesforce.com instead of MS Dynamics CRM.

Each of our two evaluations, linked above, come with a shortlist tool that allows end users to adjust weighting factors to suit their specific needs and create a custom Vendor Landscape diagram. Each Vendor Landscape Storyboard also contains a complete break out of feature categories, to help balance this lowered mobility score for Dynamics CRM with the other feature categories.
